ITC Midwest Supports Derecho Response With Disaster Relief Funding

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Oct. 13, 2020) – As many Iowans continue to recover from the severe damage caused by the August derecho, ITC Midwest is committing $75,000 in disaster relief funding to support communities and those impacted throughout its service territory. This fall, ITC Midwest is contributing to human service agencies that are providing direct assistance to benefit families in need, as well as tree replanting in the storm zone.
“This historic storm left a path of devastation and destruction across much of Iowa,” said ITC Midwest President Dusky Terry. “While the transmission system has been rebuilt and power restored, our recovery is not complete. We still have communities that are suffering and families who need help. ITC Midwest is assisting with funds to serve basic human needs and restore trees lost in the derecho. Working together, we will build back even stronger.”
Earlier this year, ITC Midwest provided $175,000 in disaster relief funding to those in need as a result of the pandemic. The company contributed to food charities as well as mental health and substance abuse service agencies throughout its footprint in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin.
Through its Charitable Giving Program, ITC Midwest supports organizations that make a strong, positive social impact and improve the quality of life in the communities served by the company.
