ITC Continues Henry Ford Academy Partnership with “Solutionville”
Welcome to “Solutionville”
ITC and The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation (THF) in Dearborn, Michigan are engaged in a 5-year partnership to spark interest in electricity and STEM initiatives among high school students. As part of the partnership, ITC recently worked with THF and their charter high school, the Henry Ford Academy, on three components:
Henry Ford Museum Tour on Historic Power

In November 2024, ITC engineers spent the morning with 11th graders from The Henry Ford Academy’s physics class. Diving into the past, current and future state of the energy landscape, the speakers also shared the exciting career opportunities in energy and the impact the industry has on our future.
Henry Ford Academy Visit to ITC Novi Headquarters
In January 2025, ITC welcomed the Henry Ford Academy’s physics class to our Novi Headquarters. The day was action-packed with speakers from engineering to operations and included a tour of various departments with an overview of the substation that is housed on campus.

The afternoon wrapped up with the class receiving a special six-week class assignment, the third component of the program, to develop a viable energy solution for a fictitious city, “Solutionville”. ITC provided project kits for the student groups to build their projects and presentations.
Henry Ford Academy “Solutionville” Presentations

In February 2025, ITC employees traveled to THF for the student groups to present their solutions for “Solutionville”, a fictious city that previously relied exclusively on fossil fuels to provide electricity needs.
All six teams did an outstanding job on their solutions. This project combined innovative thinking with real-world challenges and demonstrated the impact the industry has on day-to-day life.
ITC looks forward to continued collaboration with the Henry Ford Academy!
