ITC Decorates Transmission Structures With Festive Lighting as Part of Holiday Tradition

NOVI, Mich. (Dec. 5, 2024) – ITC Michigan which builds, operates and maintains the high-voltage electricity grid in most of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, is lighting up eight of their nearly 150-foot-tall transmission structures across the state with colorful holiday decorations.

Each transmission structure is decorated with up to 250 feet of LED lighting, (nearly 20,000 LED lights), topped by a star made up of 1,600 LED lights with a 10- by 14-foot Happy Holidays sign (13,000 LED lights) completing the display. The festive lights will shine every evening from December 5 through January 5.

“Our decorations have become a popular holiday tradition in Michigan,” said Charles Marshall, president of ITC Michigan. “We’re happy to join the communities we serve all across the Lower Peninsula in celebrating this festive time of the year.”

ITC transmission structures will be lighting up the sky in the following communities:

  • Bridgeport (I-75 south of Hess Rd.)
  • Gaylord (I-75 south of Gaylord exit 278)
  • Grand Rapids (US 131 north of 28th Street SW)
