ITC Midwest Contributes $5,000 to Support Countywide Housing Study in Hamilton County

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (Jan. 3, 2025) — ITC Midwest has made a $5,000 contribution through a Power of Connection grant administered jointly with the Iowa Rural Development Council to support a comprehensive housing study in Hamilton County, aimed at identifying housing needs and promoting sustainable growth across the area. This funding, provided in partnership with the Iowa Rural Development Council, will cover essential soft costs associated with the study.

“We appreciate ITC Midwest’s commitment to helping us shape Hamilton County’s future,” said Hamilton County Economic Development Director Cindy Im. “This housing study will be an invaluable tool for understanding and addressing our housing challenges, ensuring we can accommodate growth and support our communities.”

The housing study will assess current housing availability, demand and future requirements, laying the groundwork for strategic development that aligns with the county’s growth goals. As Hamilton County continues to expand, meeting housing needs is critical to fostering economic growth and attracting new residents. The study’s insights will enable local leaders to plan effectively and attract the resources necessary to support new and improved housing options.

“We are proud to support Hamilton County in this important housing study, which will provide valuable insights for planning and economic growth,” said ITC Midwest President Dusky Terry. “By helping communities identify their housing needs, we’re supporting an effort aimed to create stronger, more resilient communities in Hamilton County and throughout the ITC Midwest service territory.”

ITC Midwest’s support reflects its dedication to economic development initiatives that strengthen Iowa’s rural communities. By investing in this study, ITC Midwest is helping to ensure that Hamilton County can plan for sustainable growth that benefits residents and drives economic opportunity.
