ITC Midwest Provides Support for Mental Health Services

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (May 26, 2021) – ITC Midwest is providing support to mental health agencies throughout its service footprint in May during Mental Health Awareness Month. The funding will directly support mental health services to those in need.
“ITC Midwest has always taken an active role in the communities we serve by offering support beyond providing reliable energy,” said ITC Midwest President Dusky Terry. “As the recovery from the pandemic and last August’s derecho continues, there are humanitarian needs across the Midwest. For this round of contributions, we felt it was important to support organizations that are focused on improving the mental health and well-being of people throughout our region.”
Many people face unique challenges that impact their mental health, with nearly one in five U.S. adults experiencing mental illness during their lifetimes. ITC Midwest is providing financial support for the mental health and substance abuse support organizations including:
- American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Iowa Chapter
- National Alliance of Mental Illness
- Tanager Place
- Iowa Behavioral Health Association
- Capstone Behavioral Healthcare
ITC Midwest awards grants to qualified nonprofit organizations that deliver charitable services in the communities it serves. Grants support programs and projects that reflect the company’s focus on education, environmental stewardship, social services, health and wellness, and arts and culture.
