a greater grid for Michigan
We’re creating the power grid of tomorrow for your life today.
Who We Are
ITC Michigan is comprised of two operating companies (METC, ITCTransmission) that provide energy to our state.
We operate more than 9,100 circuit miles of power transmission lines and 392 substations that serve a population of 10 million across Michigan’s lower peninsula.
HOW WE SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY
ITC Michigan is committed to supporting our communities and those who make them great places to live and work. From charitable giving to environmental initiatives, here’s how we’re honoring that commitment every day.
The Three Components in Electric Power Transmission
We specialize in owning and operating electricity transmission systems—not power generation or distribution functions. Our sole focus on transmission produces best-in-class operations, reliability and congestion improvements, and access to all generation resources.
A Greater Grid, Together
We can’t build the power grid of the future alone. ITC Michigan works closely with customers, consumers and stakeholders to create electric transmission solutions that lower electricity costs, improve reliability and safety, and increase economic activity and tax revenues. We know we’re better together in the state we call home.
